Исследователи под руководством Карин Б. Мишелс проследили судьбу 89268 женщин в возрасте от 29 до 47 лет.

Все участницы заполняли анкету, в которой указывали вес, рост и размер бюстгалтера, который они носили в 20-летнем возрасте.

Результаты исследования показали, что женщины с нормальным весом и размером бюстгалтера D или больше на 80% чаще заболевали раком молочной железы по сравнению с теми, кто носил бюстгалтеры меньшего размера.

У полных женщин такой связи не наблюдалось.

Несмотря на полученные результаты, авторы исследования убеждены, что повышенный риск рака молочной железы имеют все женщины с большим размером груди, независимо от веса.

Однако, у полных женщин, в отличие от худых, размер бюстгалтера не отражает истинного размера молочных желез.

"Чем больше грудь, тем больше клеток молочных желез", - объяснила Мишелс. - "Чем больше у вас имеется клеток, тем больше клеток имеют риск потенциальной мутации или злокачественного перерождения".
